Governor Alex Otti receives cyclist who rode from Lagos to honor his achievements. He assures Abians that progress will continue and no distraction will stop the delivery of dividends of democracy.
Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, says his administration stays focused on delivering dividends of democracy to Abians. He says nothing will slow the work that places the welfare and happiness of the people first.
Governor Otti spoke on Monday, 27 October, after the State Executive Council meeting. He received an Abia-born cyclist, Mr. Wisdom Chisom, who rode a bicycle from Lagos to Abia to honor the Governor’s achievements in office. The cyclist visited with support from the Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Sir Nwaobilor Ananba.
The Governor thanked Mr. Wisdom for the recognition. He encouraged him to continue showing pride as a good citizen. He said Abians excel wherever they live.
Mr. Wisdom hails from Nunya in Isiukwuato Local Government Area. The State is rebuilding the 11.5 km Nunya-Eluama Road that stayed in poor condition for years. He said his last visit to his community shocked him because transformation had taken over. New infrastructure impressed him in Umuahia and other areas. He spoke about traffic lights at the Tower and improved street lighting. His excitement made him take the long journey from Lagos on a bicycle. He said the bicycle represents honor to the Governor.
Mr. Wisdom said he received support from security agencies while on the road. He said police officers celebrated the Governor’s picture on his shirt and allowed him to pass quickly. He left Lagos on Monday and arrived Umuahia on Saturday. He insisted he must meet the Governor to show appreciation. He said 2027 is assured because the Governor is performing.
Governor Otti received him in the company of the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu, the Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, and other members of the Executive Council.
The Governor thanked Abians for their strong support in the State and across Nigeria. He assured that service delivery continues, and no distraction will stop progress.
