Abians Have Seen Your “Edit” — Comr. Miracle Trolls Ben Kalu

Aba, Abia State – October 6, 2025

Aides and supporters of Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, have continued to react sharply to recent comments credited to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, over his public criticism of the Governor. In a strongly worded statement titled “Dear Ben Kalu, Abians Have Seen Your ‘Edit’,” Comr. Miracle Chukwunenye faulted the Deputy Speaker’s recent remarks, describing them as “an act of bitterness disguised as friendship.”

Chukwunenye, who expressed amusement at Kalu’s outburst, said it was not surprising that the lawmaker had “finally stepped out of his shell to launch a direct attack on the same man he cunningly calls his friend.” “For those of us who saw the handwriting on the wall long ago, we knew that no matter how well arrogance or bitterness is dressed, it will always leak through the tone, the eyes, or the silence,” he said. “Benjamin’s body language had been revealing this truth even before he decided to show his true colours.”

According to Chukwunenye, Kalu’s attitude became apparent months ago when he boasted on a podcast that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would take over Abia State in 2027,a statement he described as “a careless, arrogant display of political wizardry.” He recalled that during President Bola Tinubu’s recent visit to Abia, Governor Otti extended an inclusive invitation to political leaders across party lines, including the Deputy Speaker, who attended all the engagements. “After touring the newly reconstructed Aba roads with the Governor and the President’s representative, after witnessing the overwhelming applause Governor Otti received from jubilant Abians, Ben Kalu could no longer hide his bitterness,” he stated. At the Abia stadium, Chukwunenye alleged, the Deputy Speaker used his speech to criticize Governor Otti for “not giving enough credit” to President Tinubu, despite the Governor’s consistent acknowledgment of federal support and cooperation.

He noted that Governor Otti has always credited President Tinubu’s economic reforms, maintained cordial relations with the federal government, and was even commended by the Minister of Works, Engr. Dave Umahi, who described Otti as “the Miracle-Working Governor of Abia State.” “So what exactly is Ben Kalu’s problem? Which friend criticizes a friend in public?” Chukwunenye queried. “Governor Otti has been privately engaging the Lagos State Governor on issues affecting Igbo traders, but Ben Kalu prefers to perform for the cameras just to ‘show the edit’ instead of showing results.”

The Governor’s aide further accused Kalu of gathering a rented crowd days after the presidential visit, where he allegedly “revealed his true self” by attacking the Abia Governor over financial allocations and governance records. Chukwunenye went on to present comparative figures, noting that the value of Abia State’s 2024 FAAC allocation could not be directly compared with that of 2016 due to inflation and the reduced purchasing power of the naira.

“In 2015/2016, Abia State’s total FAAC allocation stood at ₦37.8 billion, while in 2024 it reached ₦95.05 billion,” he explained. “Yet, due to inflation, the real value of that ₦95 billion today is less than 40% of what ₦37.8 billion was worth in 2016.” Chukwunenye also alleged that as Deputy Speaker, Ben Kalu has received over ₦5.2 billion in constituency projects aside from his allowances and entitlements, yet “has little to show for it.”

He cited the ongoing Alayi–Ugwueke–Akaeze Road project as an example, claiming that despite full federal payment, the project remains incomplete while the lawmaker flaunts drone footage of “half-finished work.” “Behind Ben Kalu’s exaggerated loyalty to the President lies a selfish ambition,” he added. “He’s not building any real grassroots movement, just hiring crowds and claiming to form ‘Renewed Hope Partners.’” Chukwunenye urged President Tinubu to take note of what he described as “rented optics,” insisting that the so-called supporters at Kalu’s events are not genuine grassroots backers. He also alleged that some of Kalu’s close allies, including “Ejike Frank,” had not benefited meaningfully from his political activities. “Let’s be honest, Ben Kalu knows he cannot win even his polling unit if he ever tries contesting for Governorship in 2027,” Chukwunenye said. “He is caught between two doomed options, contesting for Senate against his former boss, Orji Uzor Kalu, or lobbying for a ministerial slot.”

The statement concluded by praising Governor Otti’s leadership and visible achievements in infrastructure, education, and healthcare, contrasting them with what he described as Kalu’s “stage-managed optics.” “Governor Alex Otti has proven that true governance doesn’t need edits or stage-managed optics.

His works are visible roads, schools, hospitals, and reforms speak louder than propaganda,” Chukwunenye wrote. “So, dear Ben Kalu, keep showing the edit, because when the real video of 2027 plays, no amount of cutting or cropping will save your political career. You’ll be retired politically by your own ‘Edit.’”
