“Time for Action is Now” — Sowore Urges Alex Otti, Soludo, Peter Obi, and Others to Join Peaceful March for Nnamdi Kanu’s Release

Human rights activist and presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has called on prominent Southeast leaders to move beyond rhetoric and join him in a peaceful march to Aso Rock Villa to demand the release of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

In a statement shared on his verified X (Twitter) handle, Sowore declared that he is willing to set aside political differences to unite for one cause, the freedom of Nnamdi Kanu. He challenged governors, lawmakers, and traditional rulers from the Southeast to match their words with action.

“I challenge every politician or person of good conscience from the Southeast who says they want Nnamdi Kanu released to stop the rhetoric. Time for action is now. Let’s march to Aso Rock Villa,” Sowore wrote.

He specifically mentioned Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo; Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti; former Deputy Senate President, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe; and Labour Party leader, Mr. Peter Obi, urging them to personally join the peaceful march.

“No more empty noise. Let @CCSoludo, @SenatorAbaribe, @alexottifr, @PeterObi, and all others who claim to care step up and join us in person,” Sowore stated.
According to him, the march would be conducted peacefully and legally, symbolizing a united front to demand justice and an end to Kanu’s prolonged detention.

“We go together peacefully, legally, and visibly to demand justice and an end to MNK’s persecution,” he added, using the hashtag #FreeNnamdiKanuNow.

Sowore’s statement comes at a time when the Abia State House of Assembly has also announced plans to embark on a peaceful march to Abuja for the same cause, signaling growing momentum behind renewed calls for Nnamdi Kanu’s release.
