The marriage between renowned gospel singer Paul Nwokocha and his second wife, Mrs. Goodness Nwokocha, has reportedly ended. A family source confirmed the development to blogger Promise Uzoma Okoro on Friday night.
Paul Nwokocha, who tied the knot with Goodness in September 2023, had earlier accused his first wife, Alice Nwokocha, of maltreatment, leading to their separation and his subsequent remarriage.
According to a family source, trouble started in May 2024 when Goodness allegedly faced ill treatment at the hands of the gospel singer. The source claimed that she was treated more like a housemaid than a wife, leading to mounting tensions in the marriage.
It was further revealed that Goodness Nwokocha had no prior relationship with Paul before their marriage. She reportedly relocated from Lagos to marry him at the insistence of his uncles, without conducting any background checks.
In what signals the formal end of the marriage, the bride price has been returned to Paul Nwokocha’s family. This marks yet another controversial chapter in the singer’s personal life, which has been a topic of discussion among fans and the gospel music community.
