Abia-Born Samuel Chukwueze Seals Loan Move to Fulham from AC Milan

Nigerian international winger, Samuel Chukwueze, has sealed a transfer to Premier League side Fulham FC, in a deal confirmed on Monday by renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

According to Romano, the 25-year-old’s switch is structured as an initial loan, with a buy option clause that is not mandatory. The total package, however, could rise to around €25–26 million if Fulham chooses to make the move permanent.

Romano stated, “Samu Chukwueze to Fulham, here we go! Deal agreed on initial loan with buy option clause not mandatory. Total package could reach fee over €25/26m, he’s now at Fulham training ground after medical already done.”
Chukwueze, who hails from Abia State, has traveled a remarkable journey. He first caught the football world’s eye at Villarreal CF in Spain, where his pace, dribbling, and flair made him a standout player. His exploits earned him a transfer to AC Milan in 2023, but injuries and limited game time reduced his impact in Serie A.

The Fulham move now offers a fresh start. For the Super Eagles winger, it is a chance to reignite his career and prove himself in one of the toughest leagues in the world, the English Premier League.

For Marco Silva’s side, the signing is timely. Fulham have lacked consistent width and creativity in attack, and Chukwueze’s ability to stretch defenses, beat opponents, and score crucial goals could provide a significant boost.

The structure of the deal gives Fulham flexibility. The club will assess his contributions throughout the season before deciding whether to activate the buy clause.

Chukwueze’s move has again spotlighted Abia State’s growing reputation as a breeding ground for football talent. From Umuahia to London, his story is one that inspires many aspiring players in Nigeria, showing that local talent can rise to global football’s biggest stages.

As the new season progresses, all eyes will be on Craven Cottage to see how Chukwueze adapts to life in the Premier League.
