Tragedy in Umuahia as Bride-to-Be Dies Two Days Before Her Traditional Wedding
Tragedy hits Umuahia as bride-to-be, Mirian Chinonso Sunday, dies just two days before her traditional wedding. She reportedly suffered internal bleeding after a sudden chest pain and passed away despite medical efforts at FMC Umuahia.
The family and friends of a young woman, Mirian Chinonso Sunday, have been thrown into deep mourning after she reportedly passed away just two days before her traditional wedding in Umuahia, Abia State.
Mirian, who was set to tie the knot with her fiancé, Ugochukwu Princewill, on Sunday, October 5, was said to have died on Friday, October 3, 2025, after a sudden health crisis.
According to reports gathered by People of Abia, Mirian was on her way to the market when she began complaining of severe chest pain. She was immediately rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Umuahia, where doctors battled to save her life.
Sources close to the family revealed that she was diagnosed with internal bleeding, prompting an emergency surgery. Unfortunately, despite the doctors’ best efforts, she did not survive.
The heartbreaking news came barely a day after her fiancé had shared their pre-wedding photos on social media, expressing his excitement and love ahead of their big day.
In his post on October 2, Ugochukwu wrote, “Sunday we party. 5th October. Thank you so much for choosing me, my baby girl... love is a beautiful thing.”
Friends and well-wishers have since flooded social media with emotional tributes and condolence messages, expressing disbelief at how quickly joy turned into sorrow.
Confirming the tragic news, one of Ugochukwu’s close friends, Christian Ojike Agbaeze, shared a touching message on Saturday, describing Mirian’s death as a painful loss that words cannot explain.
The atmosphere in Umuahia remains heavy as both families struggle to come to terms with the shocking turn of events.
