Police Rescue Abandoned 4-Year-Old Girl in Isiala Ngwa, Seek Public Help in Identifying Parents

Abia State Police Command has announced the rescue of a young girl suspected to have been abducted and later abandoned by unknown persons in Mbutu, Isiala Ngwa.

According to reports, the girl, estimated to be about four years old and dark in complexion, was abandoned by her abductors after they sighted police operatives in the area. The child, who is unable to clearly state her name or place of origin, is currently in the care of the police.

The Command, through its Serious Crime Investigation Squad (SCISSORS) in Aba, has urged parents, guardians, or relatives whose child matches this description to immediately visit the SCISSORS office or contact the Police Public Relations Officer for further enquiries.

The incident highlights growing concerns about child safety in the state, as cases of abduction and abandonment of minors continue to pose serious challenges for families and security agencies. Authorities are assuring the public that all efforts are being made to trace the parents or guardians of the child and to track those responsible for the suspected abduction.

The Police Command is appealing to members of the public with relevant information to come forward and assist in reuniting the girl with her family.
