Governor Otti Appoints Governing Board for Abia State Technological Skills Acquisition Center
Governor Alex Otti has appointed a governing board for the Abia State Technological Skills Acquisition Center, naming Prof. Ndubuisi Ekekwe as Chairman, alongside other experts, to drive innovation, entrepreneurship, and youth skills development in Abia.

The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has approved the appointment of a governing board for the newly established Abia State Technological Skills Acquisition Center, a strategic institution created to drive innovation, entrepreneurship, and technical skill development across the state.
The announcement, conveyed through the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu, FCA, lists a distinguished panel of technocrats, engineers, and industry leaders who will oversee the affairs of the center.
The appointees are:
- Prof. Ndubuisi Ekekwe – Chairman
- Eng. Cletus Ogbonnaya Ekpo – Vice Chairman
- Eng. Peter Ukonu – Director General
- Mr. Gerald Ilukwe – Member
- Mr. Chinenye Mba Uzoukwu – Member
- Mr. Fidelis Nwaeze – Member
- Dr. Christopher Kalu Okorie – Member
- Mr. Chukwudi Ogbonna – Member
- Dr. Mrs. Rita Ndidi Amuchienwa – Member
Governor Otti explained that the appointments reflect his administration’s commitment to equipping Abia youths with technological and vocational skills to meet the demands of a fast-changing global economy. He emphasized that the center will serve as a hub for research, innovation, and skills acquisition to boost productivity, industrialization, and job creation in the state.
The new board members, drawn from diverse backgrounds in engineering, academia, and the private sector, are expected to provide strategic direction and ensure the sustainability of the center’s programs.
According to the SSG, the state government remains dedicated to building institutions that will drive sustainable human capital development and position Abia as a leader in technology-driven enterprise.
The appointments are seen as part of the governor’s broader reforms to transform education, technical training, and capacity development, in line with his vision of building a knowledge-based economy in Abia State.
