Enyimba FC Debunks False Social Media Reports on Alleged Gifts and Allowances

Enyimba Football Club, Nigeria’s most successful football team, has dismissed claims circulating on social media about alleged gifts and financial packages extended to its players, staff, and technical crew.

The reports, which gained traction over the weekend, alleged that the Governor of Abia State gifted vehicles to all Enyimba players and approved a cash allowance of N3,000,000 each. It was also claimed that businessman and Chairman of the Cubana Group, Obi Cubana, donated N200,000,000 to cover housing allowances and accommodation for the team.

In a strong rebuttal, the club described these claims as false, misleading, and lacking any basis in fact.

“Enyimba FC wishes to categorically state that these claims are false, misleading, and without any basis in fact. At no time were such gestures made as reported,” the club clarified in a statement.

The management of the Aba-based club urged fans, stakeholders, media partners, and the public to disregard the unfounded stories, stressing that official information will only be communicated through the club’s verified platforms and recognized channels.

The statement further reaffirmed the club’s commitment to transparency, professionalism, and the welfare of its players and staff.

This clarification comes at a time when misinformation on social media continues to spread unchecked, often fueling unrealistic expectations among supporters. Enyimba FC called on its loyal fan base to rely solely on trusted communication sources.
