The Abia State Civil Service Commission has reassured residents of the state that the ongoing healthcare workers recruitment process is transparent, fair, and based strictly on merit.

This clarification comes in response to a recent publication alleging the sale of slots in the recruitment exercise. The Commission described the allegations as baseless and unfounded, stressing that the process has been designed to uphold the highest standards of integrity.

According to the statement, the recruitment process integrates Computer-Based Tests (CBT) and structured interviews, ensuring that only the most qualified candidates are selected. The Commission emphasized that the use of technology eliminates bias and guarantees transparency.

Candidates and stakeholders have reportedly praised the recruitment model for its fairness and credibility, noting that it sets a new benchmark in Nigeria’s public service sector.

The Commission also confirmed that the final recruitment results and documentation status of successful candidates will be published on the official portal, leaving no room for manipulation or alteration.

Chairman of the Commission, Pst. Eno Jerry Eze (PhD), stated that the agency remains resolute in maintaining integrity and transparency. He encouraged stakeholders to have confidence in the exercise, adding that anyone with verifiable information about malpractice should report through the official link provided. He assured that such reports would be thoroughly investigated and decisive actions taken against offenders.

“The Abia State Civil Service Commission remains dedicated to building a highly competent and professional healthcare workforce for the state, ensuring that the recruitment is conducted with the utmost integrity,” the statement read.

The Commission urged the public to disregard false claims and support efforts to strengthen the health sector with qualified professionals.
