Governor Otti Provides Free Transportation for Abia Citizens to Celebrate Yuletide

The Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, has approved a groundbreaking initiative to facilitate the return of nearly 1,000 indigent Abians for the 2024 Yuletide season. The program provides free round-trip transportation for those without financial means to travel, ensuring they can reunite with their families during the festive period.  

Under this initiative, the Abia State Government has partnered with reputable transport companies to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers. Citizens will be transported from selected locations across the country to Umuahia, the state's capital.  

The details of the pick-up locations, departure, and return dates are as follows:  

1. Kaduna to Umuahia   
   - Departure: 22nd December 2024  
   - Return: 5th January 2025  

2. Jos to Umuahia 
   - Departure: 20th December 2024  
   - Return: 6th January 2025  

3. Kano to Umuahia 
   - Departure: 24th December 2024  
   - Return: 6th January 2025  

4. Niger to Umuahia 
   - Departure: 23rd December 2024  
   - Return: 4th January 2025  

5. Maiduguri to Umuahia 
   - Departure: 22nd December 2024  
   - Return: 10th January 2025  

6. Abuja to Umuahia 
   - Departure: 21st December 2024  
   - Return: 4th January 2025  

7. Lagos to Umuahia 
   - Departure: 21st & 22nd December 2024, with additional trips using 29 buses on a rolling basis.  

This initiative, organized by the Abia State Liaison Offices in Lagos and Abia State, is in collaboration with Abia-based associations and the Office of the Executive Governor.  

Governor Alex Otti's commitment to the welfare of Abians remains evident in this effort to reunite families and create a memorable festive season. Beneficiaries are encouraged to reach out to the designated liaison offices for final travel arrangements.
