Tracka Exposes Shoddy Work on N31.2 Million Obilorji Umunneochi Road Project

Umunneochi, August 15, 2024 — Tracka's recent investigation has revealed troubling issues with the Obilorji Road construction in Umunneochi LGA, Abia State. Despite a significant expenditure of N31.2 million paid to JERRON & PARTNERS INTEGRATED LTD from March to November 2023, the project has been reported as poorly executed. Tracka found that only 400 meters of the road were inadequately constructed, while the remaining sections have not been started.

Tracka is demanding transparency and accountability, urging the National Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI), the project’s implementing agency, to disclose full project details and require the contractor to return and address the substandard work. The organization has also called on Senator OUK, who facilitated the project, to investigate the contractor’s performance and ensure that the remaining roadwork is completed properly.

As an organization committed to monitoring and providing feedback on public projects, Tracka emphasizes the crucial need for transparency and accountability in government-funded infrastructure initiatives.
