Samuel Chukwueze’s Move To Fulham Makes Him The Club’s 2nd Highest Paid Player
Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze has joined Fulham on loan from AC Milan, becoming the club’s second-highest earner with a £120,000 weekly salary. He credits Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey for influencing his move.
Nigerian international Samuel Chukwueze has completed a deadline-day move to Fulham after struggling to establish himself at AC Milan. The winger, who joined Milan in the summer of 2023 from Villarreal, failed to cement a regular spot under manager Massimiliano Allegri and has now opted for a fresh start in the Premier League.
Chukwueze joined the London club on loan with an option to make the deal permanent next season. According to football salary tracker Capology, the 25-year-old has become Fulham’s second-highest-paid player, earning £120,000 per week, which is approximately ₦264 million. This places him behind only German goalkeeper Bernd Leno, who takes home £130,000 weekly after joining from Arsenal in 2022.
At Milan, Chukwueze reportedly earned around ₦175.6 million weekly, meaning his move to Fulham represents a significant pay rise. His Nigerian teammates at Craven Cottage, Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey, earn £80,000 and £45,000 per week respectively. Despite the improved wages, Chukwueze remains well behind Nigeria’s top earner in Europe, Victor Osimhen, who pockets over ₦700 million weekly at Napoli.
Speaking to Fulham TV after his unveiling, Chukwueze expressed excitement over his new challenge and credited Iwobi and Bassey’s presence as part of his decision to join.
“I’m so happy to be here. It’s an amazing club. It feels like home because I have my people around me. I feel at home already, and I can’t wait to get started,” he said.
The transfer marks a major career step for Chukwueze, who will now look to rediscover his form in the Premier League and strengthen his place in the Super Eagles setup ahead of international competitions.
