“YOUR PRIORITY TO EDUCATION IS EMULATABLE” Deputy Mayor Ugwunagbo says as he lauds Gov. Otti for the 46 Indigent students he awarded scholarship

The Deputy mayor of Ugwunagbo local Government Mr. Nnamdi kelvin chijioke has applauded Gov. Otti for lending helping hands to the indigent to aid their education and applauded him for his vision for Abia state to have a functional educational system where the children are properly trained to compete favourably with their peers across the globe. Gov. Otti had recently awarded scholarship to 46 Abia state students studying in different tertiary institutions across Nigeria through the Alex Otti foundation scheme, Gov. Otti has in recent years awarded hundred of scholasrships programme to hundreds of beneficiaries where the scholarships were not based on ‘who you know’ rather the selection was bent on needed qualification.
According to the Deputy Mayor, Gov. Otti’s priority of education is indeed emulatable and should be replicated by others, by this single act of humanity the Governor has awakened the spirit of indigent children through provision of free access to education, restoring the hopes of the over 82.9 million poor Nigerians who have since given up in the possibility of being educated or having educated wards, “by awarding this scholarship, the Governor has added value not just to abia but to the society at large, since the benefits of an educated individual spreads across the society and not just the particular area the individual is confined in. “Gov. Otti has never relented one bit in making abians proud since his inception as Governor, he keeps giving those who supported him more reasons to do that a thousasnd times, he is a leader who cares about the future of the nation, unlike those who only cares about the future of their own children, wonder why he detests sharing of money which politicians are known for, because he believes that investing same amount of money in the welfare of a 100 persons who will become great assets in the future is much better than sharing liquidity to thousand persons which may not last for a week” says Nnamdi.
The Deputy Mayor further advised other mayors and deputy mayors or chairmen to key into Governor Otti’s vision for a better abia where education prevails “for the sustenance of the greater prospects of the future we are building in Abia, let's embrace the advancement of Education” he further illustrated how he has used his capacity as the deputy mayor to organize educational seminars and price winning quizzes just to boost the academic capacity of those who were restricted access to education
he further highlighted his vision to transform the educational status of Ugwunagbo as chairman Talking about youth inclusion, the mayor hailed Gov. Otti citing that the scholarship is also a significant step in involving the youth as there is no youth empowerment above free education or scholarship, the mayor expressed sincere commitment in replicating Gov. Otti’s systematic method in his locality as he has always done in the past through participating and sponsoring youth games like he did during the Ugwunagbo LGA unity cup last year December.
The mayor also called on the awardees to ensure they take their studies serious so they can maintain the cumulative point average (CGPA) to continue enjoying the scholarship once enrolled from the second year
