GADA, Enyimba TV and Radio Trade Accusations Over Sealed Building in Aba
GADA accuses Enyimba TV and Radio of illegally reopening a sealed building in Aba, while the station alleges violation of a court order by the agency.

A dispute has erupted between the Greater Aba Development Authority (GADA) and the management of Enyimba FM and TV Limited over the sealing and alleged reopening of a building inside the station’s premises in Aba, Abia State.
In a statement issued by GADA’s Head of Information Unit/PRO, Chibuzo Amaechi, the agency accused the property owner of unlawfully reopening and resuming construction on the sealed building without a known court order.
GADA said the structure was originally sealed on August 12, 2025, as part of its enforcement activities against illegal buildings. It stressed that the operation was conducted peacefully without assault, harassment, or arrest.
The agency also stated that a court had earlier ordered all parties to maintain the status quo, which it complied with by staying away from the site for three months. It alleged that the owner defied this by unsealing the property and continuing work, prompting GADA to report the matter to the police.
“This operation was carried out peacefully, with no incidents of assault, harassment, or arrest. The Management of GADA reiterates that this action is not a witch-hunt against any individual or organisation,” the statement read.
In response, the management of Enyimba FM and TV Limited accused GADA officials of disrupting peace at the station at about 11 am on Tuesday. The station alleged that stern-looking unidentified men, who arrived in six buses, stormed the premises in violation of a court order.
According to the station, the order in Suit No. A/137/2025, issued by an Abia State High Court on July 29, directed GADA to maintain the status quo, a directive it claimed was disobeyed.
The disagreement now appears to be heading toward further legal and law enforcement scrutiny, as both parties maintain their positions.
