ABSG Moves To Take Action On Illegal Parks As Commissioner For Transport Tours Aba Parks With Transport Union President
The Abia State Commissioner For Transport Dr. Chimezie Isaac Ukaegbu was on Wednesday accompanied by the senior special assistant to the Governor on Transport Dr. Obioma Nwaogbe as the Cooperative Transport Union President Mr. Chukwuma Azode a.k.a China leads them on a tour of parks in Aba.
The significance of this visit boils down to the necessity for the new Commissioner for Transport to familiarize with the transport system in the state as he begins work officially, this in turn is also deemed necessary to aid him in the assessment of the state of Parks in The State which includes private and government approved Parks During the tour, the commissioner who was unsatisfied with the number of illegal parks littered all around the state expressed displeasure with such illegality as he vows to clear the mess which according to him is an eye sore, he promised that the government will provide more Conducive Parks to ensure that the issue of illegal parks is dealt with, according to Dr. Ukaegbu illegal parks poses the danger of insecurity,criminal activities and can also cause road hazards due to obstruction.
The tour led the team to different parks in the state including the Aba park, Milverton park, etc as the Commissioner for Transport engaged in discussions with drivers, Transporters etc. Gaining knowledge of their modus operandi and their challenges through fruitful engagements, the commissioner also gave them the insight through enlightening them in the reason for the visit which capitalizes on keying into the vision of Gov. Alex Otti for a seamless operation of Transport in the state While speaking, China expressed Optimism on the visit of the Commissioner for Transport describing it as a step in the right direction and at the right time, he restated his commitment to ensuring that the right thing is done as he pledges to coordinate the other transport unions in the state to enable them adhere to the principles of Government, he thanked the Commissioner for Transport for the timely visit as he maintains that such visit is necessary to enhance the communication between Government and Transporters, he pledged to offer his assistance when needed in tackling the issues Observed Miracle Chukwunenye September 27, 2024.
