Abia State Government Takes Over Aba Mega Mall, Pays Off All Those With Vested Interests

In a landmark move symbolizing a new era of infrastructural recovery and strategic asset management, the Abia State Government, under the leadership of Governor Alex Otti, OFR, has officially taken full ownership of the Aba Mega Mall located in Osisioma Local Government Area.
The announcement was made by the Governor himself on Sunday, May 4th, 2025, during the grand finale of a 3-day Mega Crusade organized by the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, held at the mall’s complex.
Governor Otti, addressing a large gathering of worshippers, revealed that all financial disputes surrounding the mall had been amicably resolved. According to him, the state government paid off all individuals and entities with vested interests in the complex, including their banking institutions.
“Just about three weeks ago, we resolved the dispute, paid off everybody that was being owed, and the place has reverted to the State Government,” the Governor stated to loud applause.
He emphasized that the process was non-confrontational and rooted in transparency and accountability.
“We didn’t want to use force. We called all of them… how much are you being owed? We paid all, even paid their bankers. So this place has become full property of Abia State Government,” he added.
Governor Otti also announced that the now-reclaimed mall, which had long been abandoned and underutilized despite huge private investments, would soon be repurposed and developed for the greater benefit of the people of Abia.
“Those of you who know how Abia State Government works today; if you come back here in a few months, you would know that this place belongs to Abia State Government,” he affirmed confidently.
The Governor used the occasion to thank Pastor Lazarus Muoka, Founder and General Overseer of the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministry, for choosing Aba as the venue for the spiritual event, promising state support for future crusades.
Otti, while urging worshippers to remain patient in their faith, reflected on how divine timing played a key role in the state’s political transformation:
“There is something about God, He works in mysterious ways and with time… When the liberation prayers of Abians were due, God brought Prof. Nnenna Oti, who vowed to do the right thing,” he remarked, alluding to the 2023 election that brought his administration to power.
The crowd, in agreement with the Governor, acknowledged the transformation that had taken place in the state over the past 23 months, as he reassured them of even greater developments in the near future.
Pastor Muoka, in his response, expressed deep appreciation to Governor Otti for his humility and leadership. He led the congregation in fervent prayers for the Governor, his team, and the continued success of the administration.
