2027: ADC Will Defeat All Other Parties in Abia, Says Don-Norman Obinna
Abia ADC Chairman, Don-Norman Obinna, says politicians not joining ADC by 2027 will lose elections. He claims over 50 million members nationwide and confirms COPDEM’s full alliance with the party ahead of a major political shake-up.

The Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abia State, Comrade Don-Norman Obinna, has issued a bold warning to politicians ahead of the 2027 general elections. Speaking during a familiarisation meeting in Aba with the Abia South chapter of the Coalition for the Protection of Democracy (COPDEM), Obinna declared that any candidate contesting outside the ADC platform will face defeat.
Obinna said the ADC has overtaken all political parties in the state and is fast becoming the people’s choice. He emphasized that the current state of affairs in Nigeria, especially in Abia, is unacceptable to most citizens.
“I don’t care who you are in this state. If you are not in the ADC by 2027, you will lose. Be you the Governor, Senator, or Assembly member,” he said.
Obinna noted that the ADC is not desperate for power but is positioned to win because the people are tired of misrule. He also dismissed claims of internal crises in the party, blaming such rumors on political opponents who feel threatened by the ADC’s rising profile.
He revealed that by December 2025, the party would welcome over five sitting governors and more than 20 lawmakers into its fold. “The fear of ADC is the beginning of wisdom. Our national leadership is solid and focused,” he said.
Obinna also claimed the ADC currently boasts over 50 million members nationwide. He took a swipe at the Labour Party, saying: “If you think the Labour Party has done well here, then you don’t yet know what true leadership looks like. Our strength lies in the streets. Our power comes from the people.”
In a major boost to the ADC, COPDEM officially aligned with the party. The Abia State Chairman of COPDEM, Pastor Prince Solomon, confirmed the partnership, stressing that both bodies share the same ideology of promoting good governance and voter education.
“Our BoT aligned with ADC long ago. We’re not just here to observe. We’ve been assigned the Directorate of Mobilisation and Socio-Political Gathering in the party,” Solomon said.
He added that the collaboration is aimed at building a credible movement across all 36 states, one that puts people first and drives credible leadership into elective positions.
