Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North, reaffirms his commitment to impactful projects and accountable governance as the Senate resumes plenary, emphasizing development in the South-East and progress for all Nigerians.

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North Senatorial District and Chairman of the Senate Committee on South-East Development Commission, has restated his commitment to delivering impactful and people-oriented projects as the Senate resumed plenary after a 10-week recess.
Speaking with journalists on Tuesday evening, Senator Kalu emphasized the need for accountability, discipline, and purposeful governance in legislative service. He reaffirmed his resolve to provide meaningful representation to his constituents, advance the interests of the South-East, and contribute to the development of Nigeria.
Kalu explained that the 10-week recess was not a time for rest but for reconnecting with the people of Abia North and assessing ongoing projects. He said he used the period to review progress on infrastructural works, healthcare upgrades, and educational initiatives while also strategizing on new programs to meet community needs.
He noted that his focus remains on projects with direct impact on the lives of his constituents, such as road rehabilitation, bridge construction, healthcare expansion, and youth empowerment programs.
“As senators, our duty is to make governance meaningful for the people we represent. I remain fully committed to ensuring that every project under my watch delivers value and improves lives,” Kalu stated.
As Chairman of the Senate Committee on South-East Development Commission, Kalu has consistently pushed for equitable resource allocation and fair implementation of federal projects across the region. His advocacy has positioned him as a leading voice for regional development and inclusivity.
Upon resumption of plenary, Kalu engaged fellow senators to align legislative priorities with the realities and needs of citizens across Nigeria. He called for collaboration, unity, and a shared commitment to national progress.
His track record reflects a pattern of tangible service delivery, from roads and rural electrification to schools, hospitals, and empowerment programs. Over the years, his approach has been rooted in transparency, prudent resource management, and accountability in governance.
Senator Kalu reaffirmed that his mission in the Senate is to make representation count, ensuring that every intervention contributes to the welfare of the people. He pledged to continue championing initiatives that strengthen development in the South-East and across Nigeria.
“As the Senate resumes, I am focused on results, not rhetoric. Our people deserve leaders who work, deliver, and remain accountable,” Kalu concluded.
