Senator Orji Uzor Kalu Delivers Major Infrastructure and Educational Projects to Ohafia in 2025 Budget
Senator Orji Uzor Kalu secures major infrastructure and education projects for Ohafia in the 2025 federal budget, including key road constructions and school support across the LGA.
The people of Ohafia Local Government Area are set for a major boost in infrastructure and education following the inclusion of several transformative projects in the 2025 federal budget, secured by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North Senatorial District.
The projects—focused primarily on road construction and educational support—signal yet another round of strategic intervention by the lawmaker aimed at uplifting rural communities, improving access to essential services, and stimulating economic activity in the region.
According to budget documents, the following roads in Ohafia have been earmarked for construction and rehabilitation:
- Abia Road, Ohafia LGA
- Akanu Ukwu Road
- Isiugwu Road
- Ndiorieke–Eziafor Road
- Ebem Township Road
- Elu Ohafia Township Road
- Okagwe–Ohafia Roads
These road projects are expected to significantly reduce travel time, facilitate the smooth movement of goods and people, and connect remote communities to economic and administrative centers within and outside the LGA.
Beyond physical infrastructure, Senator Kalu is also advancing educational development in the area. Over 50 schools across Ohafia will receive essential learning materials as part of a coordinated effort to enhance the quality of education, encourage school attendance, and support students and teachers with much-needed resources.
Speaking on the development, a community leader in Ebem Ohafia described the projects as “life-changing,” adding:
“These projects are not just about roads or books—they’re about giving our children a better shot at success and giving our people the tools to grow economically. This is what representation should look like.”
The initiatives fall in line with Senator Kalu’s broader legislative agenda of grassroots-driven development and equity in the distribution of federal projects across Abia North. His ability to consistently attract impactful projects has earned him praise as one of the most effective voices from the Southeast in the National Assembly.
As implementation begins, stakeholders and residents are optimistic that these projects will not only raise the standard of living but also reaffirm Ohafia’s strategic place in the senatorial district’s development map.
