The ceremony took place at Government House, Umuahia, where the Solicitor General of the State and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, Barr. Paul Ogubunka, administered the Oath of Office and Allegiance on the new appointees.
The newly appointed officials are:

Governor Otti, in his remarks, said his administration remains committed to injecting fresh ideas and talents into government for better results. He noted that the appointments align with his strategy of broadening the scope of performance and driving social and economic transformation in the state.
“Our administration has zero tolerance for corruption and corrupt practices that take away from the public. We shall not hesitate to act whenever credible evidence of compromise and bad behavior is presented to us,” the Governor said.
He reminded the new appointees that public service is a call to duty, not an invitation to a banquet, stressing that they must live above board in carrying out their responsibilities.
Governor Otti added that the government had gone beyond the halftime mark of its first term, making it necessary to inject renewed energy into governance. He also revealed that his administration had traveled to different parts of the world in the past 28 months to recruit quality talent to achieve its vision for Abia.
Responding on behalf of the appointees, the new Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Dr. Mrs. Salome Nkemakolam Obiukwu, expressed gratitude to Governor Otti for the trust reposed in them. She assured him of their loyalty and readiness to serve in line with the oath they had taken.
