The Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic motor accident involving personnel of the State Joint Security Taskforce (Operation Crush). The accident, which occurred on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Ahieke along the Umuahia-Bende road, resulted in the death of a security officer while several others sustained varying degrees of injuries.

Following the incident, the Abia State Government promptly arranged for the injured officers to be taken to the nearest hospital, where they are currently receiving medical attention. Governor Otti has assured that the government will spare no effort in ensuring that the injured personnel receive the best possible care for a speedy recovery.
