First Lady of Nigeria Boosts Abia's Women Entrepreneurs with N50 Million Grant

In a significant move to bolster economic empowerment and support women entrepreneurs, the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) has launched a transformative business recapitalization program for 1,000 women petty traders in Abia State. Spearheaded by Nigeria's First Lady and RHI Chairman, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, this initiative aims to uplift women, foster economic resilience, and generate employment across Nigeria.
The event, held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Umuahia, witnessed the distribution of N50 million to the selected traders. Mrs. Salamatu Gbajabiamila, representing the First Lady, highlighted the pivotal role of women in local economies. “These grants are intended to help our women overcome business challenges, expand their enterprises, and contribute more effectively to our national economy,” she stated. She commended the recipients for their resilience, noting, "You are the heart of our local economies, the foundation of our communities, and the unsung heroes of our nation."
Mrs. Priscilla Chidinma Otti, the First Lady of Abia State, offered words of encouragement, urging the beneficiaries to embrace this opportunity with determination. She expressed gratitude to Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her unwavering support of Nigerian women and recognized the efforts of Governor Dr. Alex Chioma Otti for his progressive policies.
