Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu Backs Tinubu for 2027, Urges South-East to Rally Support

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, has declared strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's second-term bid, urging the South-Easterners to vote massively for his reelection in 2027.

Kalu made this call during separate courtesy visits in Umuahia by the Tinubu Mandate Support Group (TMSG) Abia State Chapter, led by Hon. Armstrong Okoronkwo, and members of Club 17 Initiative, led by Prince George Nnanna.

Addressing members of the TMSG, Kalu praised President Tinubu's leadership, describing him as a progressive and visionary leader who is committed to leaving a lasting legacy through bold economic, social, and political reforms.

"President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a good product to be sold for a second term. I believed in him a long time ago. He believed in me first, even before I met him. I was one of those who encouraged him to run for president,"Kalu stated.

He highlighted significant improvements under Tinubu's administration and encouraged the Igbo nation to align politically with the South-West by supporting the President."Our business is to tell people about President Tinubu's good works. Igbos should invest their votes where there's visible progress, and that's with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He has given us relevance and brought us closer," he said.

Kalu also expressed optimism about the All Progressives Congress (APC) winning the 2027 gubernatorial election in Abia State. He assured the Club 17 Initiative members of his continuous support and affirmed the strengthening of APC in Abia to secure future electoral victories.

In their separate remarks, Hon. Armstrong Okoronkwo and Prince George Nnanna praised Kalu's political leadership and contributions. They committed their respective groups to grassroots mobilization, emphasizing plans to spread awareness about President Tinubu's achievements and the need for continued support in the South-East.

"We are going from house to house to tell people about President Tinubu's works, especially for the South-East and Abia State," Okoronkwo said.

Nnanna further reported the successful nomination of peace marshals across all wards, in alignment with the Peace in South East Project (PISE-P), reiterating Club 17's loyalty to APC and full backing of Kalu's political endeavors.

The meetings underscored a growing movement among South-Eastern political stakeholders to support President Tinubu's reelection campaign while strengthening the APC's presence in the region ahead of 2027.
