Adc South-East Sets Up Disciplinary Committee To Resolve Crisis In Abia Chapter
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) South-East has set up a three-man Disciplinary Committee to resolve internal conflicts in its Abia State chapter, following tensions caused by a coalition process that swelled party membership and sparked leadership disputes.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC), South-East zone, has inaugurated a three-man Disciplinary Committee to address the internal crisis rocking its Abia State chapter.
The move comes in response to growing tensions within the party, triggered by the coalition process that has attracted thousands of new partners and altered the leadership dynamics of the chapter.
In a press statement signed by the Zonal Publicity Secretary, Chilos Godsent, the party explained that while the influx of coalition partners has the potential to strengthen unity and synergy among members, it has also fueled divisions and misunderstandings within the Abia chapter.
To address the situation, the Zonal leadership convened an emergency session in Owerri, Imo State, chaired by the National Vice Chairman (South-East), Sir Bon Unachukwu. At the meeting, the zonal leadership reaffirmed its commitment to restoring peace, ensuring cohesion, and safeguarding the party’s progress in Abia.
As part of the resolution, a Disciplinary and Investigative Committee was constituted, with Dr. Uche Edeh named as Chairman, Barr. Anyanwu Chioma Joy as Secretary, and Chilos Godsent as a member.
The Committee’s mandate includes engaging major party leaders and stakeholders, interacting with factional groups, reviewing petitions and relevant documents, and making recommendations aimed at resolving the crisis amicably.
According to the statement, the Committee has been given 14 days from its inauguration to complete its work and submit a comprehensive report in line with the party’s constitution.
