Abia State Police Command Commences Enforcement Of Tinted Glass Permits

The Abia State Police Command has officially commenced the enforcement of tinted glass permits across the state, in line with Federal laws and directives on vehicle compliance. The exercise, which began today, Thursday, October 2, 2025, follows months of public sensitization and extensions of the grace period to enable vehicle owners to regularize their permits.

According to a statement issued by the Command, vehicle owners who are yet to obtain their permits are advised to complete the registration process through the Nigeria Police Specialized Services Automation Project (POSSAP) portal and proceed to the State Intelligence Department (SID) of the Command for biometric capturing.

The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, emphasized during his briefing that officers must conduct the enforcement exercise with professionalism and utmost respect for the rights of citizens. He further cautioned against any attempt to exploit motorists for extortion under the guise of the enforcement.

To ensure transparency and accountability, CP Isa announced that a monitoring team has been deployed to supervise the exercise, while members of the public are encouraged to report any cases of misconduct or unprofessional behavior to the Command’s Complaint Response Unit through the dedicated phone numbers: 09031593727 or 09035401645.

The Police Command reassured residents that the enforcement of tinted glass permits is primarily aimed at strengthening public safety and compliance with national regulations, while also curbing criminal activities often facilitated with unauthorized tinted vehicles.
