Abia Police Rescue Four Kidnapped Victims, Neutralize Six Kidnappers, Recover Weapons

The Abia State Police Command has successfully rescued four kidnapped victims and neutralized six members of a notorious kidnapping syndicate operating in the state.
On March 9, 2025, at approximately 9:30 AM, the Abia State Police Command received a distress report that four individuals driving a Toyota RAV4 along New Umuahia Road, Obingwa, had been abducted by armed men.
Acting on credible intelligence, the Command's tactical team, through advanced technological tracking, located the kidnappers hideout in a three-bedroom bungalow in Osokwa, Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area (LGA). The victims had been held hostage for five days.
Upon arrival at the hideout on March 14, 2025, the police operatives encountered heavy gunfire from the kidnappers. However, the tactical team overpowered the criminals, neutralizing six of them and rescuing the four victims unharmed.
The victims were immediately taken to the Police Hospital for medical attention.

Efforts are currently underway to apprehend other fleeing members of the gang who escaped with bullet wounds.
