Ohafia Udumeze Declares Full Support for Senator Orji Uzor Kalu — Prof. Kalu Eni

A respected academic and public intellectual, Prof. Kalu Eni, has declared that the people of Ohafia Udumeze are not and will never be part of any political scheme aimed at undermining Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, who represents Abia North Senatorial District.

Speaking during a community interaction, Prof. Eni dismissed recent political agitations allegedly linked to Ohafia, describing them as efforts by “outsiders” who have no history of supporting the Ohafia people.

“Ohafia people are not betrayers. We won’t betray Senator Kalu the way others did. Rather, we shall continue to love him as one of us,” he said.

Prof. Eni attributed his personal academic success to the educational investments made by Senator Kalu during his tenure as Governor of Abia State.

“I have never met him, but his achievements speak for him. Becoming a professor today was a result of his investment in education, which I benefited from,” he noted.

The professor praised Senator Kalu for remaining consistent in his support for Ohafia, even after leaving the governorship. He cited the senator’s legislative performance and community development efforts as reasons for the continued loyalty from Ohafia Udumeze.

He strongly condemned attempts by political actors outside Ohafia to drag the community into divisive politics. According to Prof. Eni, some of these individuals held power in the past but have no tangible legacy in Ohafia to show for it.

“Some of them were in power but cannot name a single thing they did for Ohafia. Now, they want to use our name to gain political mileage. We won’t allow it,” he warned.

Prof. Eni emphasized that Ohafia’s political decisions, particularly concerning realignments and representation, are not up for negotiation until 2031.

“Any discussion about new political directions must wait. For now, Ohafia stands united behind Senator Kalu,” he said.
