In preparation for the exercise, the government directed that all markets, motor parks, private and public transport companies, as well as business premises, should carry out their own clean-up on Friday, September 26, 2025, between 7:00 am and 9:00 am.
To ensure proper disposal, the Ministry of Environment confirmed that tippers will be on ground on Saturday to evacuate refuse scooped out during the exercise. Security agencies including the Nigeria Police, Federal Road Safety Corps, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps are expected to assemble at their designated take-off points for deployment.
Residents are directed to stay at home, clean their surroundings, and wear nose masks while participating. The government also warned that defaulters will be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the Abia State Basic Environmental Law.
The Ministry of Environment reminded residents that the exercise is aimed at promoting a cleaner and healthier Abia.
