Abia APC Stakeholders Unite for Tinubu's 2027 Reelection, Vow to Unseat Gov. Otti

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State has taken a decisive step toward reclaiming political dominance ahead of the 2027 general elections, as key stakeholders met to strengthen party unity, strategize for President Bola Tinubu's reelection, and oust the Labour Party-led government of Governor Alex Otti.

The high-powered meeting, hosted by former Abia Governor and current Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, brought together prominent party leaders, including Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, APC National Welfare Secretary, Donatus Nwankpa, and a host of other political heavyweights across the state.

In a show of renewed solidarity, the stakeholders resolved to sanction any member involved in anti-party activities, signaling a no-tolerance stance for internal disloyalty ahead of 2027.

Senator Orji Kalu, speaking after the closed-door meeting, emphasized that the reconciliation effort is in line with President Tinubu's directive during the last National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja.

"We are more united now than ever. President Tinubu has directed us to reconcile party members and reposition APC in our states. The federal government's influence is evident in Abia North Senatorial District. We want the entire state to benefit,"Senator Kalu stated.

He urged party members and the people of Abia to embrace the APC's peace initiative, warning that those who fail to align could find themselves politically isolated. He added that the APC will present credible candidates at all levels and boasted of his legacy as both a governor and senator.

Kalu reaffirmed support for President Tinubu's second-term bid, calling for the South East to align with the centre to secure more benefits for the region.

"The consensus in the South East is to strongly support President Tinubu in 2027. We are planning and executing. With people like us, Nigeria will meet its potentia."he added.

APC National Welfare Secretary Donatus Nwankpa described the meeting as a turning point for the party in Abia. He emphasized that APC has experienced the largest political influx in Abia, with over 70% of former PDP members joining the party.

"We're here to redirect the party and consolidate recent gains. We are begging all our leaders former gubernatorial candidates, current ministers, and federal legislators to put aside personal differences and work for the good of the party,"Nwankpa said.

He issued a strong warning against any leader covertly supporting Governor Otti's re-election and insisted that the 2027 governorship seat must return to APC.

"We will denounce and suspend anyone who acts otherwise. Abia APC is ready to win and we are not begging for 25%we are going to win outright. We endorse President Tinubu's second term fully," he declared.

Nwankpa also praised APC's national and regional leaders for providing sound direction, particularly National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, Imo Governor Hope Uzodinma, Ebonyi Governor Francis Nwifuru, and Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, whom he described as a man of sagacity and development"

Also present at the meeting were former Finance Commissioner Obinna Oriaku, political strategist Chidi Maduekwe, party stalwarts Emeka Atuma, Ndukwe Adindu, Mike Nwabara, and several others who pledged loyalty to the partys new direction.

With this renewed unity, the Abia APC says it is poised to take over the State House in 2027 and deliver overwhelming support to President Tinubu's second term bid, ensuring Abia's alignment with national governance.
